Guest guest
Sunder: Namaskar i enjoyed reading this account of Gandhi and Churchill a lot. I have always been fascinated with Churchill's loathing of Gandhi, despite the fact that Chruchhill was so magnanimous in other respects. But for him Hitler could well have won... Yet it was he was instrumental in blocking the Nobel Peace Prize for the Mahatma...i still cant get over the fact that people like Kissinger got the Nobel Peace Prize and Gandhiji did not!! I am also reminded of an incident i read about Gandhi's visit to the Buckingham Palace for his audience with King George V when he visited England during the Round Table Conference...Gandhiji as usual went dressed only in his Chaddhar for his audience with the Emperor...and the reporters accosted him when he emerged from the Palace after his audience and asked him: " Mr Gandhi!...Would it not have been appropriate for you to have dressed more adequately for an audience with the Emperor.. " And Gandhiji's reply was short. " No...it was quite appropriate..you see the King was wearing enough clothes for the both of us! " Warms me to the Man even more! _______________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
