I just wanted to say that i do not understand this story. i don't see what it is trying to transmit. if anyone could make me see some sence in it i would apreciate it. Brian. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~response~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear Brian The idea of 'Maya' is used frequently in Hindu theology. It says, that the world that we experience, though it appears very real is in fact not what it seems to be. It cannot be classified as real nor can it be called un-real.... This unusual explanation may appear a bit 'weird' but it tallies very well with the findings of Quantum Mechanics in modern Physics. One of the metaphors used to explain this phenomenon is the idea of a 'mirage' seen in the desert. One cannot call it real and yet one cannot say that it not observed. According to me the findings of quantum mechanics come closer to explaining this concept of maya than the earlier usage of ideas like the 'mirage'. This was the point being illustrated in the story of 'Narada'. Narada wanted to experience this 'maya' and in the process forgot the lord. jay Vivekananda Centre London
