Question of Suffering - Law of Karma - Maya....

Hi,

I think most hindu texts are quite clear that

suffering is due to desires born out of attachment.

Attachment is due to wrong identification with the

lower nature which again is due to avidya or

ignorance.

Suffering is a means to lose ones attachment to the

lower nature and thereby gain vidya and understand

ones real nature. The story in the Upanishads, about

the two birds, one enjoying fruits and the other

remaining detached is quite relevant here.

Regards.

Sriram
