Still, I doubt that the Catholic Church can ever again become the monolithic body it once was. Too many Catholics have tasted the greater freedom following Vatican I. I was surprised to find at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago in 1993 that it was Catholics who were the most enthusiastic participants in interfaith dialogue. One nun gave an amazing talk about her appreciation of the Gita and her " epiphany " in Banaras as she watched the sunrise.
