Guest guest
Enjoyed the funnies as always... +++ This year, 2002, marks exactly one hundred years since our dear Swamiji passed away...ten decades ago...does not seem that far off. It was only after a 130 years or so that the New Testament was written. I cant imagine what life would have been like for me personally if i had not been able to read Vivekananda so devotedly put to paper by that great Sage Goodwin...I do revere his work...and thank Goodwin in grateful measure. One hundred years since Vivekananda's passing...and I asked one of the Swamis of the Order why there was nothing grand planned either by Belur or by any other centers...and it is because apparently the Order does not celebrate the passing on of the Master or the Swamiji or of the Mother...They are still Alive! I smiled in appreciation...yet i still think this is a landmark year and I celebrate it within... _______________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
Guest guest
Dear Jai Ram, You may be interested to know that some of the American centers, maybe most, DO celebrate Swamiji's mahasamadhi every year, combining it with the Day of the nation's Independence. It means a great deal to us. This year, as you noted, will be specially observed as the centenary of his " ascendence " . So the answer you received, though true enough, doesn't quite reflect the situation. Yours, Yogeshananda
