Guest guest
Dear Radhi, The details are here under: Basically the first three days are for Durga, the second three days are for Lakshmi and the third three days are for Saraswati. Let me tell you the basic idea behind this. It is not just Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati, but Shakti, Prosperity and Vidya. If you go still deeper, a lot of other things are added to it and it requires a lot of time to write in detail about all that. Now about the Nine Days Puja, the deities are as follows; 1. Skanda Mata - Goddess of Fire. 2. Kusumanda (or Kuchamanda) - Goddess of Solar System. 3. Sailaplutri - Goddess of embodiment of power of Trimurtis. 4. Kalaratri - Remover of darkness (ajnana), giver of freedom from fear, adversities, death, etc. 5. Brahmacharini - Giver of moksha 6. Mahagowri - 8 year old girl - Giver of peace - She is the peace component of Durga. 7. Katyayani - Goddess of Vatsalya, Love, etc. (Goddess of Brindavan) 8. Chandraghanta - Apostle of bravery, drives away evil doers and demonic incarnations. 9. Siddidhatri - Giver of siddhies, bestower of accomplishment / achievements and ultimately moksha. Dear Radhi, to understand these shakties, one has to go deep into many aspects of each deity. It includes, the rupa, the alankarana, the vehicle, the ayudhas, etc. etc. Also the meaning and purpose of and every of these deities. I hope I am clear. P. Gopi Krishna >>> meekosam 10/04/05 10:14am >>> Could someone let me know exactly what kind of pujas to do during the next 9 days for Vijaya Dashami? I know the first three days are for Lakshmi Devi, the next 3 for Saraswati Devi, and the last 3 for Durga Devi. Thanks.
