dear friends

namasthe.WISH YOU ALL A VERY,VERY HAPPY DEEPAVALI.yesteraday i have senta mail regarding SRI VENKATESWARA VRATHA KAPLPAM....hope you have seen it and found it useful....i am sending some interesting anectodes whic i sent sometime ago to my friends...you may find this interesting...

Dear friend

As I wrote in the earlier mails, many ancient principles have been lost over the years. we have medicines for all ailments in the nature itself. In vedic astrology, one can diagonise a decease by analyzing an individual’s birth chart .all human limbs are controlled by the nine planets, the nava grahas.for example, sun controls the eyes and heart.GOD has given nine plants in this universe corresponding to the nine planets.if anyone gets a decease an extract from the corresponding plant can be used to cure it….but the problem we should know which plant correspond to which planet…I was told unfortunately today no one knows those plants…we may be seeing them everywhere…but we can not identify which corresponds to what planet..only the plant corresponding to sun is widely known…it is tella jilledu..if we observe even today our elders keep the leaves of this plant on their eyes for relief from any eye ailments…

Similarly there are great ancient secrets in every area…our ancient astronomers used to calculate the timings of eclipses without any modern day tools like computer etc…such was their knowledge…

Dear friend,of all things in this universe, daanam[donating something] is the greatest.whatever we donate, money clothes, food…whatever it maybe …comes back to us in ten times more in number…we can wash our all sins[papaalu] by donating to the needy.in our Vedas .it is clearly wriiten daanam is the only saviour in kaliyuga.if we are generous.not only ourselves, our next generations too will get the blessings…this is the reason we see some persons without any eduaction, knowledge doing well in life…they never feel for any shortages…food, money or clothing…this is because someone in their earlier generations, may be grand father or great grand father would have been very generous and made lot of donations….it is those blessings that made these people live a happy life…

Dear friend,I shall write an interesting story from mahabharatha, which reflects the greatness of daanam. Dharmaraja performs a great yagna after the kurukshetra war was over.thousands of kings,Vedic scholars, and lakhs of people visit the yagna and have food.one day dharmaraja observes an interesting scene.he sees a mongoose which is washing it’s body in the muddy water, the water that flew after all those persons washes their hands after food.dharmaraja observes a peculiar feature on the mongoose. one side of it’s body is fully golden and the other half is normal.then dharmaraju asks the moongoose why is it’s body is in this way..then the mongoose replies..`dear dhrmaraja, several years ago I washes my body in a small pool of water outside poor brahmin’s house.the brahmin family was living in abject poverty…at times they used to without food for several days at a stretch…once, after a week’s hunger they could get little food.that too very small content…just one

grain for each…just when they are ready to start eating that one grain, they hear a voice outside asking for food[amma, aakali, annam pettandamma]…the family of the poor brahmin without thinking even a second stops eating those few grains…the poor brahmin comes out of the house and gives the rice to the hungry brahmin…then the hungry brahmin takes that just small morsel (mudda) of rice and eats it…he then washes his hand….dear dharmaraja,I have washes my body in those waters…as the water was little,I could only wash half of my body…surprisingly that side has become golden…since then I have visited several places…I have washed my whole body in waters where yaganas and great homams are performed by great kings scholars…with the hope that the other half also would be golden…but it never happened…I came to know that the great dharmaraja is doing a yagna and several thosands would be fed …I thought if I wash my body in such pious waters I can make the other half golden…I came

with lot of hope…but dear dharmaraja,I am thoroughly disappointed…it has remained as it is…it did not turn out golden….

This story reflects the greatness of daanam…it is not how much you gave…it is your sincerity ..honesty…that is more important….in fact the moment this mongoose turns golden another thing happens …the poor brahmins house gets filled with prosperity….that is the value of such blessings…such is the power of daanam….

for those who have faith in HIM he is always there.whenever i find time i keep writing to you my experiences with HIM....ONE SMALL EXAMPLE...i do not wear any footwear as long as i am on the thirumal.it is the most sacred place in this universe..in fact it is ADISESHA HIMSELF...for the last six to seven years,i mean after i realised THIRUMALA'S GREATNESS i stpped wearing chappalas on the hill...the moment i get down the train at thirupathi station,i remove my sandal and wrap it keep in a bag or cover.as long as i am on the hill i will walk without any sandal ....whether it is three days or four days...doesn't matter....i will wear again only after getting down the hill....this has been by practice for the last few years...it's a thrilling feeling...anyway,i just can not think of walking with footwear ...one interesting incident happened during my trip in 2001.in fact that was when i stayed there for five days during writing of thai book...i went with a

friend..both of us got down from the train at thirupathi sattion and hired ataxi to go up the hill....as usual i took of my sliipers and kept it in the taxi....after reaching the hill we went staright to cotteges and shifted our luggage etc....we still kept the taxi asking him to drop us seva counters...in a hurry i forgot to take off the chappal from under the taxi seat...we reached seva counter and got down...still i did not know that i have left my chappal in the taxi...we just paid him the fare and looked the otherway...in a spilt second the driver took out the sandals and just thrown on the road telling me i forgot to wear...and immediately drove away...i am in utter tension..what to do with these chappals...i do not wear at any cost...the only thing was to hold them in hand all along the seva counter and then take them to room....both myfrind and myself were wondering what to do...both of us just turned our head towards the seva counter[it is a few yards away]mjust to see the

queque...the moment we turned back our head to take the chappal in hand THEY HAVE DISAPPAERED!....WE WERE ASTONISHED....IN FACT MY WAS SHOCKED...HE HAS SEEN MANY EXPERIENCES OF MINE WITH SWAMY VARU....BUT THIS WAS TERRIFIC....THERE WAS NO ONE AROUND....NO EMPLYEE OF TTD OR ANY DEVOTEE....IN FACT TEARS ROLLED MY EYES....THAT WAS THE GRACE OF SRI SWAMY VARU....PERHAPS HE DID NOT WANT ME TO WORRY ABOUT THOSE CHAPPALS....

dear sir,i am writing these thinsg only just to share my experiences....KINDLY DO NOT THINK I AM EGOSETIC....in fact i shun publicity and i prefer keeping a very, very low profile...i have always believed in some principles...

with best wishes

Hello TVK Murthy garu,

Thanks for posting about Vedic treatment for ailments and also your explanation about the greatness of daanam

But why do you say that daanam comes back to you in multiple times?

Dear friend,of all things in this universe, daanam[donating something] is the greatest.whatever we donate, money clothes, food…whatever it maybe …comes back to us in ten times more in number

With this people will give daanam with the motive that they will get back whatever they give 10 times back. Suppose you give give an organ donation like a kidney or eye will you get 10 eyes or 10 kidneys? What will you do with 10 eyes?

Daanam given expecting 10 times in return is not a daanam it is an investment.

Also I would like to comment on your incident of Chappal disappearance in Thirumala

the moment we turned back our head to take the chappal in hand THEY HAVE DISAPPAERED!....WE WERE ASTONISHED....

In our country at public places like Airport, Railway station, Temple, Movie hall, etc., theft is very common. When you travel by bus you will not know that somebody did a pick pocket. Is this GOD's grace?

On a Railway Platform if you keep your bag and look elswhere your bag will disappear. Is this GOD's grace or your day dreaming?

If you are alert and smart your chappals would be safe.

I hope you will be more alert on your next trip to Thirumala.

Regards

Raghu
