I have seen the infortamative article with interest. I am Dr P V

Sesha Sai Former Chief Officer of Syndicate Bank and now an

Aswamedhayaaji having performed Shri Aswamedha Yaagam in Hyderabad

from 11th December 2005 to 18th December 2005 and the year long

yaagam was completed on 12th February 2006. The purpose of

mentioning all this is to make clear about the wrong notions on

Rudrakshaas. A ling was constructed using 125000 rudrakshas of

different faces. Rudraksha belongs to Elio Corpus species(the

spelling differs slightly in botanical terms). There are many faces

of rudrakshas and I am possessing rudrakshaas from one face to 14

faces, 21 faces, Ganesh Rudraksh of one face Lord to four faces,

gowri shankar, garbha gowri, kamal rudraksha and similar unusual

varities. My experience with these are more than 30 years.

It is a fact that they helped me and my associates, friends and

relatives in several forms. People may think - as I too thought

initially - what makes a difference for one face or fourteen faces.

But in real terms we experienced the difference. Therefore it is

not simply a faith - it is really a belief based on experience.

It is surely necessary that being educated we should not fall into

the wrong traps - on many occasions I observed the vendors making up

rudrakshaas of our choice faces and carving shiva ling, serpent,

trisul etc and making the innocent to believe that all these are

real ones. One may get thrilled seeing on all these on rudrakshaas

but I have not so far seen a single original rudraksh in my 30 year

long study, possessing shiv ling etc.

These days rudrakshas of ceylon etc - the moon shaped one faced ones

are sold where I found no SEED VALUE in these items. There are

bhadrakshaas also similar to that of the species of rudrakshaas.

Buyer must beware of all this. It is not necessary to believe that

only ORIGINAL RUDRAKSHAS ARE sold in Shankar Mutts etc associated

with Peethas. The Mutts have permitted some of the vendors to sell

these rudrakshas in their premises and only an expert can judge

whether they are original or otherwise. This is only an informative

letter to the readers and not a criticism on any particular person

or organisation.

It is advisable to get the items judged by an expert for the true
