A SMALL INTRODUCTION FOR MAHAA SOURAM.

The early man, after satisfying himself, with food and shelter, he

looked around himself. He found the Sun god daily raising and falling.

He also found the full moon for every 15 days. He began to worship the

sun and moon as Gods. He also worshipped nature viz., rain god who gives

water, Agni, the fire for cooking, Wind god, trees which give him

shelter, snakes not to bite him, etc., etc. He worshipped Mahendera

who was the chief of all the above gods. But he worshipped Sun god more

than any of the above gods. In Rigveda, the praise for Sun Good, Soorya,

is known as " Mahaa Souram. " In the present day Medical Science also,

the rays of the rising sun in the early morning contains vitamins.

Jaundice affected to the children who are just born will be cured by the

rays of the Sun in early morning. In this Souram also, in the first

para, several diseases are mentioned which will be cured by the grace of

Sun God. Yoga also suggests Soorya Namaskaaras in the early morning.

Besides that, if we read Mahaa Souram daily and worship Soorya—the

sun god, several diseases will be cured. Hence, our Guru collected

Mahaa Souram from Rigveda. I am placing the same in the net for the

benefit of one and all.
