The best attitude to make not only oneself but also others happy is to develop " Nishkaama Prema " (i.e., unconditional love) with " tyaga bhava " (i.e., renunciation). I know how much difficult to develop these qualities. It is a struggle and an unending battle agaisnt one's own innate tendencies or samskaras. But one has to try, without giving up at any point of time. One may fall, while trying, but, if our resolve is stronger, He will lift us up definitely. I am confident about that. Life opens up many unexpected turns and travails, but never give up and have confidence in His wisdom. He is " sarvaantaryaami " (i.e., omnipresent) and He has " ananta shakti " (i.e., omnipotent). He knows the past, present and future too. We cannot grasp Him with our limited mind. So, let us submit to Him and His wisdom. Before concluding, let me quote what Paramacharya Sri Chandrasekhara Saraswathi of Kanchi Kamakoti Pitham said: Quote: In all that you do, let love be the sole motive. Any deed must be with reference to another. Action implies the acted-upon as much as the agent. Let action be out of love. I am not here referring to the Gandhian gospel of ahimsa. There may be situations which demand violent action. Punishment, for instance, may be necessary. Even wars may have to be waged. But whatever be the nature of the action, the agent must act out of love. Passions such as desire and hatred, anger and malice must be totally eschewed. If love becomes the guiding principle of all deeds, then most of the ills of the world will vanish. Unquote. What else one can write more than what the great Saint said?
