Can anyone give brief about the following:

 

1. Importance of Mahalayapaksham

2. Dos and donts in Mahalayapaksham

3. Tarpana Vidhi and manthram for doing tarpanam in the house during

mahalayapaksham and every Amavasya.

 

I have lost my father two years back. Here in Chennai everyone is

doing tarpanam on every amavasya and observing fasting during the

mahalaya paksham. Is it necessary to observe fasting for all these 15

days or is it enough if we fast on the tithi (when father died). I

could not get telugu mantram books on tarpanam and how to do.

 

Purohits are making me to do tarpanam on every abdeekam day but I

could not remember the mantras.

 

Please help me in this and help in performing tarpanam to my beloved

father.
