Guest guest
Dear Vijay: Vyasa never portrayed Suyodhana, as a bad king (Critical Edition of Vyasa Mahabharatam - Devanagari version). On the other hand there are various instantances where his character and and Ideal king were exemplified. Pleas enote that what is propagated in the media has nothing to do with what was in Vyasa Mahabharatam. You may remember the sloka we chant - " Swati PrajAbhyAm. paripAlayantAm nyAyena mArgena mhIm hahIShAh.. " which describes how an ideal king should govern his kingdom, Duryodhana fits very well in that mold. Every thing he did was to preserve and keep the kingdom for him. There is nothing wrong with that. I think this is not the correct forum to discuss this topic. If you need additional information, you can contact me. with best wishes Raja Dr. V. R.
