Guest guest
Sound Aum and Atma closely and deeply related - Its meaning: Aum: As you are aware Aum is the composite sound of Aa + Ooo + Ma. ‘Aa’ represents Brahma (Aarambham (starting) / Manas / Srusti); ‘Ooo’ represents Vishnu (Uthpathi (Continuous Sustenance) / Operator / Paripalana (Ruler) / Jnanam); and ‘Ma’ represents Maheswara (Layam (Merging in Atma)). As one can deeply analyze the central sound ‘Ooo’ sound is longer when we chant Omkaram; this certainly means Uthpathi (Continuous Sustenance) which the Operator Vishnu does Paripalana (ruling) by incarnating on the earth to establish Dharma (Righteous act †" Righteous Karma). The level Dharma practiced / attained depends on the human beings to merge ultimately in Supreme Paramaathman. Until then the soul (atma) entwined with manas (Brahma) take several births/deaths to know and gets layam in Supreme Paramaathman. This certainly represents the sound in Om which is ‘Ooo’ is longer. Then, how to get this wisdom to make the Manas merge in Supreme Paramaathman. Now see the meaning of Atma. Atma: ‘Atma’ sound consists of Aa + Th + Ma. ‘Aa’ represents Brahma (Aarambham (starting) / Manas / Srusti); ‘Th’ represents Tathwam (Thou Art That means I am That); and ‘Ma’ represents Maheswara (Layam (Merging in Atma)). When we clearly analyze this sound ‘Atma’; ‘Th’ sound is shorter than ‘Aa’ and ‘Ma’. Truly when you get the wisdom or in the path of Atmic wisdom knowing that ‘I am That’ which is nothing but ‘Thathwa Jnana’. Only Thathwa Jnanam makes one to merge Supreme Paramaathman; that is making ‘Aa’ and ‘Ma’ together which is nothing but amanaska sthiti (mindless state) merging in Atma sthithi (Maheswara). The word Eeswara is called as Maheswara here is because; the Atma (Eeswara) takes the form of Vishnu + Brahma + human then going back to Brahma + Vishnu into Maheswara. Maha is nothing but coming down to Mahi (earth) and going back to Supreme Paramaathman. To conclude: The Vishnu thathwam when in the form of Buddhi in human beings later takes shape into Atma Jnanam through Sadguru. The same ‘Ooo’ uthpathi sound transforms/narrows into ‘Th’ thathwam sound. Lord Vishnu is the giver of ‘Thathwa Jnaanam’ through the form of Sadguru on earth (Lord Krishna or His embodiments). That is why all great Rishis normally appear in Vaikunta than Kailasa or Brahma Loka. They keep the thin narrow difference with Lord Vishnu and enjoy the supreme Thathwa Jnanam. Although the sound in between ‘Aa’ and ‘Ma’ appears to be different but the journey of the soul is unimaginably longer, longer, and longer until it gets Atma Jnanam. P.
