Dear Fellow Members,

I am giving below a write-up on the enrichment of

one's retired life-in a Spiritual way.

 

ENRICH YOUR RETIRED LIFE

On retirement from busy official work, one finds

one-self out of balance & some persons fall even sick.

It is necessary that the retired persons should enrich

their lives by keeping themselves active. I would like

to share my experience with our NITHYA KALYAN Group

members as how I could enrich not only my retired

life, but also of others by bringing together about

150 families of 400 to 450 persons of different ages,

temperament, living standards etc.. from my relations

spread all over the world. The famous Tamil saying –

KUVALAYATHIN OTTRUMAIKKU ASTHIVARAM KUDUMBATHIN

OTTRUMAI - meaning the Peace & Harmony in the families

at micro level is the foundation for the Peace &

Harmony in the World—ignited my thoughts and efforts

after my retirement .

 

To –day in this highly mechanized , computerized &

automated world the present generations do not even

know the nearest relations. Even the blood

brothers/sisters are not able to meet each other &

talk. They greet each other " hellow " and part if

they " happen " to meet in a function ! With the

" family planning " -the present generation may not be

lucky to have all the relations-ATHAI, CHITHAPPA,MAMA

,CHITHI & SO ON!!

 

After retirement, taking the help of my cousin, who

is also a retired person , & our wives a family chart

of five generations beginning from my great grand

father Sri Jambunathan ( i.e our father's grand

father) born 179 years ago at our native place

Manachanallur ( Trichy Dt.) was drawn.. We could get

about 150 families spread all over the world.. We

established contact with them by getting their

addresses & phone nos. through various sources. We all

agreed to get together one day in a year in a

Spiritual back ground at Kancheepuram and perform

pujas at Sri Kamakoti Mutt & Sri Kamakshiamman Temple.

This get together on the fourth Friday of Tamil

Chithrai month every year under the banner . "

MANACHANALLUR JAMBUTHATHA PARIVARA TRUST " is going on

very happily for the last SIX years beginning from

the new millennium, 2000. Kanchi Acharyas, who named

the formation as above, lauded the effort as a Unique

one & are advising the others to emulate this example

, to know their family roots, culture & understand

each other, towards peace & harmony.

Every member has been given a Directory of addresses &

phone nos. of all the members(updated every year) to

have contact with each other. On coming to know about

this formation & activities through media the general

public also evinced keen interest & sought guide lines

for similar formation in their families.
