From president of the Ashram all inmate of the Ashram were engaged in attending to and in entertaining the president. Dr. Sarvepalli talked to Ramana Maharshi for some time and then left. All the inmates joined the president up to his car ,to bid him a great send off. Ramana Maharshi turned to the French devotee, the only devotee who sat there. " Are you the one inquiring what Maya is? " " Yes Swamy, but your Holiness did not give him any answer, replied the French devotee. Ramana questioned him again, " Where did all our people go? " " They all went to give him send off " , said the French devotee. " Yes that is Maya .You have witnessed with your own eyes, didn't you? " Ramana said. The foreigner looked blank. " Did you not understand? " Swamiji inquired and continued " They all say that they are all detached and left all worldly things. But they forgot the very purpose for which they have come here. They are simply flocking around the bigwigs forgetting the very purpose for which they have come here. That is Maya, what else? Explained Ramana. " To know oneself is the main objective of the life. Forgetting this objective is Maya. Isn't it Swamiji? " questioned the foreign devotee. " Yes! Yes! " Said Ramana thithi loni sivuni sthiramuga teliaka thikka patti narudu tiruguchundu.
