Ayurveda and some rules of good conduct

Ayurveda is an ancient science and it is 'Upaveda'

to 'Rigveda.'This Ayurvedic system is having two main aims.

1.Prevention of health of human beings. 2.Giving proper treatment to

the pationts duly taking necessary care for prompt relif from the

disease at the earliest.

To maintain proper health Ayurveda told about 'Swasthavruttam'

good habbits to be follwod in 'Dinacharya'(the rules to be followed

in daily works) 'Raatricharya' (Night actions)'Rutu charya

(seasonal)

Along with it, Ayurveda tells about 'SADVRUTTAM' good habbits to

be followed in which a human being can avoid diseases and bad). As

such the science imposing some rules of Code of conduct.Let us see

some of it.

1. One should follow the recognised conventions and traditions of his

family and the religion.

2.One should avoid irrelevent,false and harsh talks.

3.One by deeds, speach or mind should neither hate any body nor

should cause any pain to anybody.

4.One should avoid violance,theft and slandering.

5.One should save his parents, teachers and those who are elder to

him in age, education, intellect or designation with full devotion.

6.One should remain calm and fortitudinous in prosperity and misery

both.

7.One should not be jelous of some one's achievements though he may

emulate him to reach the same height of achivements.

8.One should serve as much as his capacity allowes the following

category of needy persons : patients, sufferars, engrived and those

who are unemployed and without any work to earn their lively hood.

9.One should not long for the happiness of the self but he should see

that others also get happiness along with him.

10.Those are ill-wishers to a person should also helped as much as

posssible if they are in distress.

11.One should not be an enemy to the other nor other makes his endmy

without valid reasons.

12.One should not reveal the unfavour or insult hurled by his

employer to any one.

13.One should not trust everbody blindly nor should mistrust anybody

withour valid grounds.

14.The key to gain favour of some one is to understand other person

and do likewise.

15.One should not be a slave of his sense-organs nor they should be

suppressed. Desirous of nothing but salvatation (MOKSHA)one should

not make his / her absolutely devoid of Dharma, Arrha and Kama.

16.The mind should be kept full of sympathetic fellings and kindness

(AARDRA SANTAANATAA).

17.Forgiveness and forbearness should be the attributes of one's

nature.

18.Whenever avarice,sensuousness,irrritation, reaction, jealousy,

attraction and blemishment supervene one, he should immediatly

correct his mind and get rid of them as early as possible befor they

overpower him.

19.Everyday one should ponder over before sleeping, whether the day

was spent meaningfully without any harm to any body. He should also

take note whether he passed the day performing his allotted duties

faithfully and honestly. If some flaw is noticed it should be

rectified and the programe next day be made in accordence with the

experience so gained on that day.

20. Don't swim in an unknown river, never go near the flames,and

never ride an unknown animal or vehicle.

These are few samples in the SADAVRUTTAM which should be

followed by all for their benifit.
