'Koojantam Ramaraameti madhuram madhuraaksharam

aaruhya kavitaa saakhaam vande vaalmeeki kokilam'

A sweet voice bird ( kokila) named as Vaalmeeki delivering sweet

voice as 'Rama Rama' duly sitting on a branch of tree named

as 'kavita' I am offering my pranaams to that.

Srimad Raamayana is an Aadikavyam ( first book of literature)

which was written by Maharshi Vaalmiki by the inspiration given to

him by Devarshi Naarada. Before starting this literary work, Maharshi

Vaalmeeki asked some questions about Noble man. Here are some

questions 1.who is the nobleman with good qulities and strength.

2.Who is Dharmaatma 3. who is kritagna. 4 Who is the man only

interested in truth only. 5.For whoose anger even Gods may feel

fear. For all thease questions and all other additionala questions

Maharshi Naarda indicate Sri Rama as his reply and told the story of

Sri Rama. Then Maharshi Vaalmeeki started writting Srimadraamaayana.

Raamayana means the story of Sri Rama. In another word it is the

story of Goddess Sita Devi.

In another form it is Gaayatri Mantra who is capable to lead the

human being to the eternal. Srimad Raamaayana shall be viewed in that

asect also.

In another view Sri Rama is Bhagwaan Vishnu. That's why great

saint Tyagaraja told " Madhava mantramunaku 'RAA' jeevamu,

Sivamantramunaku 'MAA' jeevamu.

'Sri Ramudu Taaraka mantra swaroopudu'. Taraka mantra

means 'OMKAARAM'. This Taarakam or Pranavam consists 4 parts. AKAARAM

UKAARAM, ,MAKAARAM and ARDHAMAATRA. Akara is Srirama, Ukaara

indicates Lakshamana swamy, Makaram indicates SITADEVI. and the

ARDHAMATRA indicates Hanumaan. We ma find all the deatails

in 'Harakumaara Samwaadam' in 'Braham Yaamalam'. This pranavam was

given to human beings by MAAYA with kindness as said by sri

Aadisankaraacharya in his Suvarna maalikaa Stotram.

In another view we may worship Lord Srirama as a model ruler and

a model person to be followed by all human beings with an intension

to devolep charactrisation.

In all respects Srimad Raamayana is a model KAAVYA as such

several poets even now writting this Kaavya in their styles for their

JANMA SAAPHALYA.
