Guest guest
Dear Devotees of Divinity in TBP, Love and Love alone... See what Lord Krishna says in Srimad Bhagavad Gita. Read and inculcate those qualities which an ardent devotee is supposed to have. The explanation give by Brahmaleen Swami Ramsukhdas ji maharaj. Love and Love alone.... P. Gopi Krishna ===== The Lord describes the six marks of perfect devotees :- Anepeksah sucirdaksa udaasino gatavyathah | Sarvaarambhaparitya agi yo madbhaktah sa me priyah || (Gita 12:16) He, who has no expectation, is internally and externally pure, skillful, unconcerned and untroubled, renouncing all new action for pleasure and prosperity, he, My devotee is dear to Me. (Gita 12:16) Let us discuss three of those six qualities today - One word used for a devotee is " Udaasinah " - An enlightened devotee remains indifferent, to whatever happens. He remains detached from all incidents and circumstances. Just like a man standing on top of a high mountain, is unaffected by fire or flood in the plains. From within, such a devotee remains alike to both friend and foe, even though his dealings outwardly may not appear so. He is even impartial, because he regards the entire Universe including the body as God's. " Gatavyathat " - He remains free from affliction and worries. He is not troubled by favourable and unfavourable circumstances, attachment and aversion, pleasure and pain and these pairs of opposites. " Sarvaarambhaparity aagi " - Performance of new actions for pleasure and prosperity, is known as " Aarambha " . This includes accumulation of new things and starting new business to hoard money etc. A devotee renounces all initiatives for pleasure and prosperity. A person who hankers after worldly pleasures and prosperity, and who is proud of himself because of his caste, creed, order in life, learning, intellect, ability, position and authority etc, in not a devotee. A devotee is he who is devoted to God. He surrenders his body, sense, mind, intellect, actions and their rewards etc to God, because God is the real owner. He regards prakriti (Nature) and it's evolutes as God's. Therefore a devotee regards no one else except God as his. He, instead of performing actions for himself, performs these to please God. He never performs actions to gain wealth or property, comfort, or luxury, honour or praise etc. He does not perform any actions for pleasure or prosperity due to his intense longing for God.
