aathreya - CONTRAST IN HUMANITY - KRISHNA VS DRUPADA

 

SRI KRISHNA VAASUDEV OF DWAARAKA and Drupada Paanchaala

are contemporaries. Both are very wealthy and influential , but are

very

different personalities.

KRISHNA is a Statesman ; Drupada is apetty human being.

KRISHNA is a Divine Personality; Drupada is an inconsequential man.

KRISHNA is a Noble King-Maker ; Drupada is an arrogant king.

KRISHNA Studied under Saandeepani of Ujjain; Drupada no idea.

KRISHNA had a childhood classmate Sudaama aka Kuchela.

Drupada had a childhood classmate DroNa.

Both Sudaama and Drona are very poor Brahmins but learned.

DroNa is the son of Bharadwaaj Muni; Sudama ancestry is not known.

KRISHNA - Sudaama grew up , married and settled down ,

KRISHNA in Dwaaraka and Sudaama in some village.

KRISHNA became Richer - Sudaama became poorer.

Drupada - DroNa grew up , married and settled down ,

Drupa as king of Paanchaala and became richer and

arrogant.

DroNa married Krupi , sister of Krupaachaarya of Hasthina ,

had one son Aswatthaama . DroNa became Poorer and

became

a Nomad searching for livelihood.

One day Krupi, DroNa's wife suggested to DroNa to approach His

childhood classmate Drupada for financial assistance. DroNa with

all His naivity went posthaste along with Krupi and infant

Aswatthaama

to Paanchala and sought audienve with Drupada , who denied all

knowledge of DroNa , refused to acknowledge any acquaintence with

DroNa and insulted DroNa saying how a poor Brahmin like DroNa

could even approach such agreat on elike himself . DroNa felt

humiliated , disappointed , despondent and went away to ParasuRaam,

who took DroNa into HIS fold and taught DroNa Dhanur Vidya . DroNa

became agreat Dhanur Vidyaa PraveeNa , went to Hasthina and with

the help of His brother in law Krupaachaarya and Bhishma became a

Dhanur Vidya teacher to Kauravas , Paandavas and Aswatthaama.

CONTRASTIN HUMANITY :

Now let us go back to Sudaama aka Kuchela and KRISHNA VAASUDEV.

Sudaama's wife suggested " why not you approach SRI KRISHNA VAASUDEV

in Dwaaraka for Financial Help " . Sudaama , having heard what happened

to

DroNa was hesitant , not sure how he will be received by SRI KRISHNA.

However Sudaama was persuaded to try his luck - " you will never

know unless

you try yourself. " So Sudaama packed afistful of ATUKULU = hand-pound

dried parboiled rice , as he did not want to go empty handed to

Dwaaraka .

One fine morning Sudaama started off on foot to Dwaaraka and after an

arduous journey reached the portals of SRI KRISHNA'S Palace in

Dwaaraka

and rang the door bell with a lot of trepidation. A door man came

out and

Sudaama introduced himself which was conveyed to SRI KRISHNA in HIS

Anthahpuram . SRI KRISHNA rushed outside , embraced Sudaama , took

him inside, introduced to RUKMINI , offered Sudaama cool beverage , a

warm bath

sumptuous feast , new clothes and then both talked about

their early schooldays etc. Then SRI KRISHNA ASKED Sudaama " what

have you brought for ME " , where upon Sudaama with an embarassing

chuckle offered ATUKULU , for which KRISHNA thanked Sudaama

profusely ,

and ate some of the Atukulu.

KRISHNA arranged an escort and transportation to Sudaama . Lo and

Behold,

when Sudaama came home it is full of riches , new clothes fo all ,

house full of provisions, granaries full of all varieties of

DHAANYAALU etc etc.

NO WONDER SRI KRISHNA VAASUDEV IS A DIVINE PERSON FULL OF

HUMAN VALUES , BELOVED OF ONE AND ALL , GOD , A FRIEND IN NEED ,

A GIDE , A PHILOSOPHER .
