Guest guest
Dear Bhagavat Bandu Jawahar Prasad Garu, No Sir. It is not proper for any one to perform his own Shraddha Karma. There is no mention of this particular aspect even in Garuda Purana. There are two reasons for the prohobition. 1. We give Tarpanams in Punya Teerthas and in Puskarams not only to our Pitrudevatas, but also to all those who died without issues, in accidents, known or unknown. This pious act of ours will give the Pretatama (Souls without proper Shradda Kriyas) proper form to reach punya lokas fully satisfied. So one need not worry about his sharadda Karma, since our Sastra already provided for various eventualities. 2. Secondly, on a broad thinking, if one performs his own Sharadda Karma, either in Prayaga or in any other Kshetras, he has to be treated as Pretatama for the rest of his life. So he will not have the right for Bhagavadarchana. (Pooja, Vratam, etc.,) Why to forego a wonderful opportunity to pray and meditate, for a Kriya which is not stipulated in our Sastras? 3. Kindly note some persons propogate certain things out of ignorance or for some living. So, Pray God, Love and Love all.
