Guest guest
My Dear Bhagavat Banduvullara, As there were numerous typographical ERRORS crept in my post Voice of the Rishis -16, I desire to post VOICE OF THE RISHIS - 16 once again. Kindly bear with me. VOICE OF THE RISHIS - 16 ASWADDHA SSARVA VRUKSHANAMM -- BHAGAVADGITA In the most sacred book Bhagavad Gita in Vibhuti Yoga Chapter, Lord Krishna goes on relating how His Holy image is passed on into certain selected creatures, selected seasons of the year, or selected plants. Those mentioned in this Chapter as carrying the reflection sacred Godly powers are worthy of our consideration and priorities. Lord Krishna says in Gita 'I am the moon among the stars, I am the month Margasirsha among twelve months " and even goes to extent of saying I am Vasuki, the deadliest of the snakes " . And it is in this context He says, " I am Aswaddha tree among the innumerable plants. " Let us ponder about why this " Aswaddha " , pepaul tree is reckoned as the holiest of all with Lord's image or preference. In Homa, the Holy Fire, the twigs of Aswaddaha only are to be offered as fuel (samidha) for it is stated that the holy fumes purify the ecological order. Again according to the Buddhist scriptures Gautama became the Buddha, while penancing under Bodhi Tree. The trunk of the tree is white and it is said to have several medicinal values. Further research studies on this plant would certainly yield several secrets why of all the trees Lord has equated Himself with this Aswaddha tree. Ps: I recollect an amusing story, while re-posting this. There was a Pauranic Drama being enacated by an experienced troop. But unfortunately, that evening one actor fell sick who has to play an important role, which has several Padyams in the drama. Due to unavoidale circumastances, an actor of the calibre of the undersigned was selected to enact the character. The Drama started and the new actor started rendering his first padyam and the audience started shouting " Once More " . It is customary for the actors to sing the Padyam, if " Once More " is received from the audience. So, the actor rendered the Padyam again. Again the audience said " Once More " . The actor did sing the Padyam once more. It went on four or five times. Finally, the actor out of frustration asked the audience, " How many times, do you want me to sing the Padyam " . One of the audience replied " Till you render the Padyam correctly to the audience " I Hope Shri GPLN rao garu, will execuse me for any further mistakes. Sir, your post is well taken. with regards, jajisarma
