Guest guest
Dear Mohana Rao garu, Love and Love alone.... While analysing any issue, it should be taken in totality and not in a piecemeal way, because you see only one portion and the total picture is not under your gaze. As mentioned in my two learlier mails on this issue, Chapter IV and Sloka 13 of Srimad Bhagavad Gita says very clearly that the Chatur Varnas have been created on the basis of guna and karma alone and not on any other basis. And our great sciptures are not for just one period or one segment of the population. These sacared scriptures are for eternity and every one on this earth. What is modern? The modern man is not taking food as in the old, the modern man is not doing various other things as the olders used to do. Where is the modern, when the past is not there? Is it not a bye-product of old. Yes, say there is sophistication. I agree, but do not be under the wrong assumption and understanding that the sared scriptures are not longer relevant to ths present-day society. Every word in our scriptures is a great mantra, kindly realise this truth. Kindly read Swami Vivekananda's books before coming our with any argument. Your argument is so lopsided that you like to highlight just one or two incidents to colour the whole community or society. Your son commits a mistake, do you make him to understand what the mistake is, what are the consequences thereof and how to correct himself or just throw him out of the house? Don't you see many people joining and standing in the queue with the many other to have darshan of Gods and Goddesses in many of our temples? Yes, it is still, unfortuntely, true that it has not been totally eradicated in some corners of the country, but that does it mean that you wish to close your eyes on those, where there is tremendous progress and development. Where appreciation is due, give it and where it is still hurting, let us try to make changes so that the message goes clearly and resoundingly to every one. It clearly shows how biased your vews are when you said in your post, and I quote, " I am sure this message of mine will not be published. Still it is my duty to communicate. " And, now what do you say? My sincere request and advice to you, whether you accept it or not, is do not be onesided in your approach to any issue in life. Have broader outlook, do your best and then learn to accept things as they are. If you have the courage and strength to change, please do, but do not attribute motives discreetly with a negative intention. If you are positive, I am sure, the result would be positive, if not, definitely not negative. But, if your intentions are negative, the result would naturally be negative. Kindly note that. Love and Love alone.... P. Gopi Krishna ======= " J. K. Mohana Rao " <jkmrao wrote: Dear Sirs: varNASrama dharma might have suited some purposes in the past. But in my opinion, it has no place in the modern world. Everyone is entitled either to the study of Veda or to menial work. People born in " higher " castes do not alwys follow higher ideals and people born in " lower " castes do not have low ideals. That there are still distinctions is true. In this age, can one imagine of temple purification because someone entered it? This did happen in Guruvayur recently. After all the daLitagOviMda movement of TTD is a sad reflection that there are certain communities that find it difficult to worship God, is it not? I am sure this message of mine will not be published. Still it is my duty to communicate. I hope all the learned members and moderators will discuss this.
