Guest guest
Namasthe. Dear Siva Ram Garu. Dear Rajen Garu. Dear Gopi Garu. Mee andariki Na PadabhiVandanam. Thank you. My thoughts. I will give Rs1 Lakh and i will gather 10 friends of mine who will each contribute the same. Let us contribute this money to any Temple and repair it. 10 more people will gather in a similar way and we will use the money for the Temples. 100 people like that totally towards working this. No limit, even a Tulasi Dalam from anyone is sufficient. If we can contribute to 1 Temple in 1 year in the years to come more will gather successfully. I fully to the anguish and agony expessed by the members of TBP on the present sad state of affairs of Temples in India in general and in Andhra Pradesh in particular. I am one with you. I myself have seen at least three temples in Nalgonda district, of them at least two old temples have been completely demolished and ruined for hidden treasure in the Garbhalaya (i.e., sactum sactorum) and the vigrahas have been defaced. I really wept on that day. The villages were surprised at my lamenting !!! The villagers took me around, when I visited Hyderabad last time. Unfortunately, at present, even the rulers are either helping the looters or looking at other side, while the Hindu temples are being ruined by hoolingans. The worshipping places of other religions are absolutely intact and protected. What does it show both on the part of rulers and ruled? The answer is obvious. Coming to unity in us, yes, I too agree on that score also that we do not have it that and this was precisely the reason that the other religious people invaded India, ruled us and ruined us and we allowed them to do so. Now--a-days, it has become a fashion to find fault with others, than rectifying one's own. We have divided ourselves on the basis of caste, region, religion, sex, etc. The goal in life, in most of us, is to earn as money as possible, whatever might be the way of earning. It is very painful to see this degradation both in the public and in the leaders. Bharat Mata is weeping every day and night for this downfall of her children. But, who bothers? We forgot to respect our parents, what to tell about respecting other elders and especially our mother-land. Rama says to Lakshmana in Ramanaya, in response to later's suggestion that Rama should rule Lanka and forget about Ayyodhya: Api swarnamayi Lanka name Lakshmana rochate Janani janmabhoomischa Swargaadapi gareeyasi Meaning: Lakshmana, it is true that Lnaka is made of gold and very rich, but I do not like it, as I value, Janani (Mother) and Janmabhoomischa (birth place) more than Swargam (Heaven). How many of us are now in this state of mind? Not even one per cent. I have seen, being a Pravaasaandhra (non-resident of Andhra Pradesh) that in most of the Andhra families, the spoken language at home is either Hindi or English, not Telugu, but the most spoken language in India, after Hindi, is Telugu !!! Is it not sad? I strongly feel that a person, who forgot one's Mother, Mother-tongue and Maatru-bhoomi, is worse than a traitor. If so, how can we safeguard our age-old traditions and culture and especially temples? Unfortunately, temples have become a part of this negligence. We are in the rat race to become rich overnight, whatever might be the price we have to pay for that. It does not matter. We need a good house, we need a good-looking wife or husband, we need car, we need bank balance, we need T.V., we need all other facilities, which will give us comfort and we ALSO need God. So, God comes the very LAST ITEM in the list and we proudly say, I AM SORRY, I DO NOT HAVAE TIME FOR PUJA, etc., or I DO NOT KNOW ALL THIS. I have absolutely no objection to have all these facilities, but, ata the same time, we should earmark time every day for our inner-self, for our culture, for our moral-growth, for our mental balance and well-being, for self-less service, etc., but we do not have time for any of that. It is a painful commentary and it requires a soul-search to come out of this trap of materialistic outlook. Then, and only then, we will take care of ourselves and our culture, our temples, our self- respect, etc. also. Till then, the only thing we can do is suffer from this kind of humiliation. Lip-service and sympathy will not yield any results to set-right the things that went or are going wrong. It requires iron-will. Earlier I wrote a couple of mails regarding our responsibilities towards society, etc., how many have you responded? Not even one ! If it is so, how many, do you think, would come out openly to support any issue of this nature? The answer is very clear. So, first of all, get out of this negative attitude that I CANNOT DO ANYTHING. Every drop in the ocean counts and is equally important. Practice makes one perfect. Let us realise this TRUTH now and now itself. This is my first and last mail on this. Let us not drag it on and on to a situation, where it becomes a personal one. Thank you very much for your understanding. Hari Om. Love and Love alone..... P. GOD is mute and speechless. in HIS name everything is being carried our even though the same is against our scriptures and Dharma. who cares. we do not have any tolerance in this group also if a good joke/cartoon/photos are sent. how can u expect unity when there is no tolerance, compassion, kindness to understand others, respect others views etc. we need sri sriman ramanujacharya and sri chaitanya prabhu again in this country. pardon me if i have exceeded my limits. i only poured my heart. rajen babu ramdantu <ramdantu wrote: Endaroo Mahanu bhavulu... Guest guest
Dear Telugu Thalli devotees. Namasthe. Dear Gopi Krishna Garu Please keep me posted about your organization. My hearty congratulations to all the three of you, who have come out with some positive response. It is really heartening to note that there are still people like you, who attentively read these messages and also react with alacrity. I bow my head in appreciation, respect and love to you all. I am one with you, believe me. Please see that you form a group of like minded people as soon as possible and take up some such task, which would not only help and save the lives of the suffering lot but also see that our age-old tradition and culture is protected (like renovation of old temples, dhoopa-deepaaraadhana, etc.) in all respects. I suggest one simple task, if you do not mind. Just contribute Rs. 100.00 every month and the only condition is that each member should enrol another member, who will have the same kind of zeal and enthusiasm. Pool up this money every month and do some such service as the necessary arises, such as cremating unclaimed dead-bodies with all love and respect, educate the deserving children from poor families, help aged-poor-persons with food, shelter, medicines etc., marriages in poor-families, etc., etc. There are thousands of such issues, which really require all our immediate attention. But, one thing you should all always keep in mind. Do not BEG or BORROW, do not take credit or loans (means, service for the sake of service and Love for God), as it would turn out to be a burden at a latr date. When one feels any social work (or selfless work) as burden, then it is not at all a social work, it is a headache. Above all, the funds should be spent very scrupulously and miserly, as it is HIS money for HIS sake (Daridra-narayana - it hurts me a lot to write like this, but the fact reamins always that it is true). Not only that, only some such person(s) handle the cash, who is/are true and honoest to the core and he/they should send the detailed statement of accounts to all the members every month through e-mail ONLY. I can suggest n-number of such schemes, should any of you is interested and prepared to work selflessly. A few of us are planning to start some such organisation very soon. I can give you details individually, as it is not at all fair on my part to write all that in TBP for every one, without knowing the real intentions. Love and Love alone.... P. Gopi Krishna === 1. lakshmimadhav udayagiri " <lakshmimadhav Dear Friend, Impressed with the idea. Is there any list of the temples, with no nitya deeparadhana. If so I like to know more about thesame. Instead of waiting for some to come and start something let me start with one small temple. UMRao. ======== 2. Mr sridhar bandaru " <sridhar_bandaru Members of Telugu Bhakti group, I have read couple of responses on this topic. Everyone agrees on the fact that we should do something but no one had any ideas on what can be done. I'm posting some of my thoughts to ponder upon. Some of these thoughts are based on my own personal experience. I helped construct a Sri Shirdi Sai Baba temple. I'm still active in supporting regular maintenance. I have similar thoughts as some of the members, I always wondered why people need a miracle to turn their attention to God. So tomorrow in the same dilapidated temple say a miracle like milk drops happen, people throng to the temple. If wishes materialize, they are ready to trek miles but would not be willing to donate time without any ulterior motive. Everyone forgets the fact that what you get is already written. Another topic that ticks me off is the corruption in temples but probably I should put that aside for another e-mail. Here are the dependencies: - Constructing or maintaining a temple is not a one shot effort. It requires time and financial commitment over a long period of time. - Effort can be a one shot effort or would it need extended help like Poojari quarters and salaries, regular temple activities to name some. This largely depends on the state of the temple. - We need to make sure that at least 95% of effort will actually go to the temple. Minimize overhead. What we can do: - We can find a temple that is really in bad shape. Pool some funds and donate to the temple. We might need an analysis on what has to be done. - File a petition with local authorities. In my opinion, accountability is high if we go to district collector level. - May be even find corporate grants for local temples. What we need: - Volunteer(s) to identify the temple. - Monetary donations. - A local help : this will help monitor the overhead. - People who are ready to devote some time over a period of time. What others can do: - Have faith in the effort and put in your sincere effort and thoughts. - Spread the word. Hopefully I haven't discouraged anyone. If we can help renovate one temple only then we can say " drop in a ocean " otherwise it is meaningless to use that term. Sridhar Bandaru ======== 3. Pathuru Navin " <pathurun Namasthe.
