Guest guest
Now let us reflect on this - Who is an enjoyer ? The enjoyer is neither real or unreal. The real cannot be an enjoyer, because the real lacks nothing - " nabhaavo vidyate satah, " while the enjoyership come to an end - " na lipyate " . The unreal also cannot be an enjoyer, because the unreal has no existence - " nasato vidyate bhaavah. " In the unreal there is no consciousness. Therefore in the unreal there can't be even the imagination of enjoyership. It means that doership and enjoyership are neither in the real, nor in the unreal. In the union of the real and unreal also there is neither doership, nor enjoyership; because as the union of the day and night is impossible, so is the union of the real and the unreal impossible. Therefore doership and enjoyership are merely assumed - " kartaahamiti manyate " (Gita 3:27). i.e. When a spiritual aspirant discriminately totally renounces attachment to the body i.e wipes out sense of " I " and mine " (which actually does not exist), then he remains neither a doer, nor an enjoyer, but only the divine entity remains. In this way a spiritual aspirant having realized the absence of doership and enjoyership in Him, is liberated. i.e. he does not remain a doer or an enjoyer (experiencer) but remains the Pure Self (Divine Entity). The question arises is that how is the Self dwelling in the body, not tainted. Lord explains this that " As the all-pervading ether is not tainted due to being subtle, so the Self (atma) permeated everywhere in the body, is not tained. A man performs actions to receive its fruit. So, first he thinks of the reward, and then performs actions. Thus the Lord asks a spiritual aspirant to not be an enjoyer. By renouncing the fruit of action, doership is automatically renounced. Lord also says that just as ether pervades all gross elements and is not tained, similarly Self pervading all bodies is not tainted, because it is eternal, omnipresent, immovable, constant, everlasting, unmanifest, unthinkabble, and immutable (Gita 2:24, 25) and the entire Universe is pervaded by the imperishable Self (Gita 2:17).
