Guest guest
THE BEGINING OF DUALITY,,,Seeking the Divinity By Dr.John Hislop Swami says that creation is endless, and that the first expansion of indivisible, consciousness into duality, that is taking itself as an object, manifests as granite, as the rock. Then He says the rock dies and reborn as a tree. After all that experience, tree dies and is reborn as animal; and after that long, long experience, animal promote itself to the status of human being. Beyond that, there are a total of (seven ) steps on this journey out into manifestation, out into multiplicity ; and then back into heart, into unity. There is rock, vegetable , animal , human, superhuman, cosmic, and divine. Dr Hislop says, one of his friend in Mexico is still engaged in that outward flow of life into manifestation. So what is the harm ? You know it can last for millions and millions of years, and millions and millions of incarnations. All perfectly legitimate. There really is no reason for anyone to take up a spiritual life and try to find the central truth about things, until he feels in himself that impulse to do it. Prosing people and urging them to take up a spiritual life, is only effective if they are ripe for it. Then you did perhaps the greatest good deed that is possible for anybody. But in general, the world is not ready for that, will never be ready for it, because there is constant coming into manifestation of life as it advances through this progressive evolution. What then causes a person to become interested in spiritual life ? What causes a person to come to a place like this instead staying home, talking to friends, playing cards or watching TV ? It is because you have been through it all, otherwise you would not been here. Somehow or other, in recesses of your heart, you started to ask some deep questions. You know, in questioning, the important thing is to pose the right question; and observing, it is necessary to find the essential as distinguished from the nonessential. You must have observed in your own life that the satisfaction of all your desires, that is, in manifestation, in duality, rises up in us because of our mind. The vital breath stirs, we exert all our efforts towards satisfying our desires, and enjoy life throughly. Many people do not want to be liberated, that is, do not want to find themselves. They want to be engaged in life. They want to come back again and again to enjoy life. You will find many people will tell you that-----even people with few possibilities. One starts to approach the spiritual life from having asked the question, is there anything that can give me eternal satisfaction ? Is there some object of desire that will always give me the maximum happiness I want and that will not degenerate into something that makes me unhappy instead ? That is the proper question. Then you start to wonder, how am I going to go about making this discovery ?. What am I going to do ? It has been said, the process of detachment is difficult. To merge with Swami is the path of devotion. Swami says that one should eighter be totally detached from the sensory objective world or one should know and visualize Godhead in the objective world and worship the divinity. Finally, one realize that he is not different from God, that God is in the heart and only God exists. That is the final and essential freedom, the realization that everything is God. Any appearances to the contrary is just illusion---temporary, passing. Jai Sai Ram. (Sharing with Sai Love) Ramchand Chugani <rgcjp
