Guest guest
SRI MAATRE MAMAHA The great Sanskrit Mahakavi 'BHARAVI wrote a 'Kavyam named as 'KIRATAARJUNEEYAM'. A story of Arjuna tapas in getting 'PASUPATA ASTRA' from Lord Parameswara. A sloka from his work. " SAHASAA VIDHADHHETA NAKRIYAAM AVIVEKAHA PARAMAAPADAAM PADAM VRUNATEHI VIMRUSYA KAARINAM GUNALUBDHHAHA SWAYAMEVA SAMPADAHA " " No work should be started ubruptly without proper understanding and without proper planining. Any fool ignores this advise has to face many problems and he has to pay neceessary compensation for it. Wise person who impliment this advise shall be benifitted. The wealth it self come and embrace him for his proper thinking in all respects. " This 'sloka' played a key role in Bharavi's real life and saved two lives also. Bharavi was a great scholer in literature from his child hood. Several learned persons praised him several times for his effeiciency in the presence of his father also. But his father was never agreed with them. He was in a habbit of telling that BHARAVI should learn more to became a scholer. Even after several years and even after the marraige of Bharavi, his father was not changed. But Bharavi gained very good name in the society for his good works in literature. By all the above Bharavi came to a conlusion that his father never recognise him as a scholer in his life time, and his words about him shall spoil his reputation in the society. So he decided to kill his father as a revenge. So one night he entered the bed room of his father secretly with an intension to kill him. His father and mother entered the bedroom in the night. Bharavi's mother raised a question about his behavior against Bharavi. He repled that he is very happy to recognise his son Bharavi as a great poet rather greater than him. He also told that even now he is not going to praise Bharavi. Because Bharavi shall not reach hights to be reached as he feels happy by his words, and stop all his efferts to reach hights in literature. He also told that he won't praise Bharavi for want of long life span of Bharavi. By hearing all thease words Bharavi felt very guilty and started to weep duly falling on the feet of his father. He explained every thing to his father and prayed him to punish him for his action. Bharavi's father excused him. But Bharavi compelled him to impose punishment. Aa there is no other go his father ordered him to go to his father-in-law's house and stay there with his wife for six months as punishment. Bharavi sent a message of his arrival to his father-in-law well in advance. Bharavi's father-in-law made grand arrangements to say welcome to his son-in-law. Functin of welcome to bharavi was a grand success in which several public praised Bharavi's knoledge and great name he earned. For few days Bharavi received Royal treatment in his father-in -law's house. After few monts the Royal treatment became very poor treatment as there is no sign of Bharavi's departure from that house. At last he was ordered to go to cultivation land to protect crop from birds etc., There he started writting KIRAATARJUNEEYAM. In the meanwhile a festival arrived. Bharavi's wife asked for some money from him as she could not get it from her parents. As there is no money with him our poet given the above sloka and asked her to pledge it to a buiseness man in that town for money. So she went to a 'SRESTHI' and got money from him duly pledging this sloka. The 'SRESHTI' understood the meaning of the sloka and keep it in his box of sword. He was having a beautiful wife and a son aged 12 years. He went foreign country on buiseness work. Bharavi returned to his native place with his wife as his self imposed punishment is over. He also finished his great 'Kavyam' 'Kiraataarjuneeyam' and waiting for the above Sreshti's arrival to get back his sloka by clearing the pledge. As the Sreshti's arrival is delyed this book was not released timely. Due to some unavoidable circumstances the Sreshti arrived to his home town after ten years. Immediatly after his arrival in the night he directly went to his bedroom to take rest. There he found that his wife is sleeping with a young chap. By seeing this the Sreshti became very angry and intended to kill them both. He removed the sword. He found the sloka of Bharavi and read it. After deep thinking he awakend his wife. She was very happy to see her husband after a long time and she awakend the young chap and introduced him as her son to our Sreshti. Our Sreshti shocked with her words and prayed God as his son and wife was saved from his sword. Next day our Sreshti went to Bharavi and cleared the pledge of sloka with thanks.
