Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA! RISHI VANI - 45 COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARADHANA RAO JAYATYATI BALO RAMO -SUNDARAKANDA 42-3 Ramayana, the greatest epic, written by Maharshi Valmiki contains great lessons and secrets of life. Ideal characters of a husband, wife, brother, father, subordinate, a king— All are interwoven in this great epic Ramayana. It is said that some slokas contain great mystic powers being `beejakshara' (vibrant words). The present sloka also is one which said to bring full fulfillment of one's desires, when recited with devotion. Let's know the context. Hanuman searched long for Sita Devi and found her at last. As an emissary he gave the token of Rama's ring to Sita and carried Sita's token `choodamani' (hair jewel) with him. But he had other duty too, an important duty, to spy over the strength of the enemy, Ravana. How to do it? He ravages the Asoka Vana, uproots trees and breaks branches making loud sounds. Naturally the security guards would try to catch him. And here the first fight ensues with the adversity. And Anjaneya recites the following sloka initiating the righteous war leading to success. It is an invocation for victory to Rama. " JAYATYATI BALO RAMO, LAKSHMANASCHA MAHABALAH RAJAA JAYATI SUGREEVO, RAAGHAVENAABHI PAALITHAHA " Victory to the formidable strength of Rama, also to Lakshmana, the strong, to the Sugreeva victory, the ruled ones of Rama " Chanting this sloka he defeated the ten thousand and demons carrying arms, and himself unarmed raising his body to the proportions of a mountain. He kills them all, and was intentionally allowed to be caught and was carried to the court of Ravana. Here Hanuman's spell dashes the opponent, his mental and physical prowess. The sloka quoted should be got by heart by all the devotees and to be recited whenever critical moments come in the way of devotee.
