Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA! RISHI VANI - 46 COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARADHANA RAO JEEVANTU SARADAAM SATAM --ASEERVACHANA VAKYAM " Live hundred years " is the Vedic blessing given by the seniors to all the persons. This greeting for a long life denotes the love of life that Vedas hold. In Sndhyavandan Mantra a complete picture of the image of long life is given which is glorious in its concept and to be remembered by all. The mantra runs like this " Jeevema Saradassatam, Nandaama Saradassatam, modaama saradassatam……..Ajeetaasyama Saradassatam " . In this, the life style of living for hundred years is defined. It is not long life, dry `like an oak', as the poet, Ben Johnson, puts it that is to be cherished. A long life sick and desolate and no one to love is the worst of its kind. But it is not this sort of long life of hundred years that is wished for. `Jeevema Saradassatam'-Live hundred years, `Nandama Saradassatam'. Live happily for hundred years; Modama Saradassatam, live making others happy for hundred years, Ajeetaasyama Saradassatam, lives unconquered for hundred years. How happy and full of life would be if one lives happily, if one lives making others happy, and if one lives dignified and unbent for hundred years!
