Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA! RISHI VANI - 47 COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARADHANA RAO JYOTIH VRINEETHA --RIGVEDA 3-39 " Love the light always " , is the glorious concept of Vedas. Light (Jyothi) is ever to be desired (Vrineetha). The word Light conveys several attributes. Light consists of love, honesty, knowledge, generosity, fame, peace, prosperity and all other positive benefits of this world. Jyoti or light is often the first item of worship in the Vedic system. The worship starts lighting the Holy lamp. It ends with the Aaarati, the light by burning camphor marking the end of the event of worship. The day commences paying obeisance to the sun God (Surya Narayana). Sun worship, through Gayatri Mantra, forms the `summum bonum' of Vedic worship. Savita Devatha is the light that is worshipped. Hence Vedas signify that any worship of light, indicates worship of knowledge. Knowledge is light. Pursuit of knowledge means the adoration of light. All knowledge is light. Knowledge dispels ignorance. Light dispels darkness. It is this accent on light or knowledge or truth that makes Vedas great and of eternal value. " Jyotih Vrinieetha " " Desire ever the light " " Love knowledge " " Seek knowledge for ever " are the lofty thoughts handed over to us in this Vedic saying.
