Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA! VOICE OF THE RISHIS: 53 COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARADHANA RAO DURITANI PARAASUVA --RIGVEDA 1-40-9 " Keep the bad (duritani) aloof (paraasuva) " This is an adage that stresses the significance of living in the company, we keep. This is more so among the youth, and the students. Peer influence as it called, or the influence of friends goes a long way in moulding one's type, good or bad character. Hence even in the ancient text, Rig-Veda, this is given importance. Keep away from the bad and undesirable, is a saying of much consequence. One may not be an alcoholic, a drug addict, or a liar or a dishonest character but the negative influence will be imprinted on himself to some degree or other. Influence of the surrounding people will have always a deep imprint on one's character. Man often improves himself by selecting ideal men and women and tries to mould himself in their ways. This adoptive or imitative trait is ingrained in man. Hence it should always be the constant endeavor of man to allow himself live among good people with desirable qualities.
