Some say Saturday is Thrayodasi and yet others say it is Chathurdasi,

 

but whatever Saturday belongs to Saturn , Mighty Shaneeswara .

 

Namasthe Shaneeswara Deva we aare all aware that YOU exercise

 

YOUR influence on all of us mortals atleast twice in our lifetimes ,

 

lasting for a period of Seven and Half years each time , while YOU

 

are sojourning in our janma raasi and rasis on either side of our Raasi,

 

for a period of two and half years in each of those three raasis .

 

Our only request is O Lord Kshamaswam , Rakshamam , Om Shaanthi-

 

OM NAMO SHANEESWARAAYA NAMO NAMAHA OM .

 

Lord Shaneeswara Bless All . Be compassionate, Kind and

 

Considerate . Please accept our Offering of Black Thils

 

(sesame seeds) along with jaggery mixed in milk .

 

SHANEESWARA is The Son of Soorya and Chaaya and an

 

Elder Brother of Yama Dharma Raaja (Pluto)

 

SHANEESWARA is Blue , attired in Black Robes; even HIS

 

teeth are black.

 

HE likes to be bathed with Sesame seed oil .

 

SHANEESWARA rides on a chariot with A Crow Pennant.

 

HE is lame in one leg . HE has broad eyes (Hyper Telorism )

 

SHANEESWARA is Cross-Eyed = A Squint (Strabismus).

 

HE is always walking around with Downcast Eyes as HE does

 

not want to look straight into people's faces -

 

OM NAMASTHE SHANI DEVA , NAMASTHUBHYAM .

 

SHANEESWARA confines HIMSELF to One Corner and keeps

 

HIMSELF aloof and all by HIMSELF. - NAMASTHUBHYAM.

 

SHANEESWARA is Tall , Thin , Emaciated and Looks Fearful ,

 

but do not be afraid- THAM NAMMAAMI SANASWARAM .

 

HE is ever hungry and ever thirsty for our Obeisance. We know YOUR

 

appearance is only to keep us in a righteous path and ultimately YOU

 

mean well and brook no harm to any of us . Om Shaanthi.

 

HE is The Lord of Two Houses - MAKARA RAASI (Capricorn)

 

and KUMBHA RAASI (Aquarius). SHANEESWARA is A

 

Manda= Slow in Movement and Stays for a period of 2 1/2 years

 

in each Raasi.

 

SHANEESWARA is all Skin and Bones with very little Flesh and

 

has very long stiff hair on HIS Head . OM SHANEESWARA NAMHA .
