PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA!

VOICE OF THE RISHIS: 61

COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARADHANA RAO

" NANDAAMA SARADASSATAM, MODAAMA SARADASSATAM "

-SANDHYA VANDANA MANTRA

We have already discussed in a previous article how the universal,

blessing " Live for hundred years " is important. Long Life makes a

life complete, in experience. By the completion of a hundred year

life, man generally begets children and grand children. Thus he is

able to see a complete cycle of three generations or even four. It

is great indeed for a man to lead such complete life. So much

importance is given to long life in Vedic teachings! Sad and somber

teachings, like the world is an illusion, life in transitory, this

existence is all a myth like a dream, are not to be found in Vedas.

There are down to earth texts that give us sane and sound advices

making existence of man peaceful and happy.

" Jeenema Saradassatam " Live hundred years, " Nandaama Saradassatam " –

Live happily for hundred years " Modaama Saradassatam—Live hundred

years making others happy " " Ajeetasyama Saradassatam " – Live hundred

years unconquered " – are the greatest, wises and most realistic

blessings which the vedic hymns have passed on to us from generation

of generation as our rich heritage, for a meaningful healthy

existence in the world towards the discharge of our duties as

ordained in the Holy verses. The more we meditate upon these Vedic

sayings, the more we get inspired by the wisdom of the ancient

rishis, guiding us to lead successful lives in this world.
