Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA! VOICE OF THE RISHIS: 73 COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARADHANA RAO " MADHURENA SAMAAPAAYATH " " Conclude your food (Samaapayeth) with a sweet item (madhurena) " . The last course of our menu should be sweet one. It may be a sweet fruit, ice-cream or some dessert. This advice may be having some biological significance in the process of digestion. Of all the tastes, sweet is the prime one that is generally given importance in the items of our food. The taste buds and salivary glands are stimulated spurring the early and easy process of digestion and sweet foods have lots of glucose content which is a basic energy giver. The conclusion of eating food with a sweet item, also gives to the person a sense of satiety or satisfaction. In Gita it is ordained that we should take saatvic diet which is defined containing Rasya, snigdha, sthiraa, hridya, food items should be juicy, fresh, lasting and pleasing to look at. So much significance has been attached to the type of food that one should partake and it is termed as `Saatvic' diet. " Madhurena Samaapaayath " Conclude your food taking a sweet item is an adage worthy of our consideration.
