TTD to conduct two Brahmostavams this year

 

 

 

TIRUPATI, Aug.14 (TIRUPATITIMES.COM)

 

 

 

Due to `adhikamasam' (additional month) that comes once in every

three years in the Hindu Calendar,Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD)

which manages the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala

near here would conduct two Brahmostavam festivals this year.

 

 

 

Temple sources said that the first 9-day Brahmotsavam festivals would

commence on September 15. The main event of the festival- 'Garudaseva

procession' would take place during night on the fifth day of festival

on Sept.19. As part of the mega festival the Chariot Procession on

September 22 and Chakrasnanam ritual on Sept.23 would be conduced at the

hill temple, the sources said.

 

 

 

In accordance with the three-decade old practice, the Andhrapradesh

Chief Minister, Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, on behalf of the Government,

is likely visit and offer a set of new silk cloths to the Tirumala

temple on the commencement day of the festival, the sources said.

 

 

The conduct of second Brahmostavam called as `Navaratri

Brahmostavam' festivals would begin on October 12 on the hills, the

sources said adding that unprecedented decorative and security

arrangements were being made for the festivals.
