Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA! VOICE OF THE RISHIS: 81 COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARDHANA RAO " YATU KRIYAVAN PURUSHAH SAVIDWAN " Here is an ancient text, stressing the importance of pragmatic approach in one's study of various books. It is only the man, with a practical approach to life and study of texts that becomes a real scholar (sa vidwan) in the end. Life is all a bundle of activity. And the person with dynamism applying the information, obtained from various areas of activities (Kriyavan) will be entitled to be termed as a true scholar. Scholarship transformed into useful activity will only be true activity. Otherwise the whole process of learning will turn into obscure metaphysical hypotheses. " Sastranya dheetyapi bhavanti Moorkhoh " By study of sastras, turns a mere fool, erudition and mental acumen " Yastu Kriyavan purushah savidwan " Man that turns his information into a fund of useful knowledge will only be a real learned man, true to the term. On similar lines Swami Vivekananda through his memorable phrase " Anusthana Vedanta " electrified the youth into great followers of Vedanta serving the mankind all over the world in several practical ways. The present quote exhorts us to be wary of mere flights of academic brilliance and guides us to the practical in our lives.
