Guest guest
Merge yours wishes with His will There are two types of expressions in having the feeling of mine- ness with God 1) God is mine and 2) I am God's. In both these feelings even though the relationship with God is the same, then too in the expression - God is mine, there is subtle feeling, that if God is mine, then why will He not fulfill my desires and create a favorable situation for me? Whereas in the expression " I am God's " there is no desire what so ever of wanting that which is favorable; because if I am God's, then God will without any hesitation do only that which he considers beneficial for me. Therefore a spiritual aspirant must want that whatever is God's will, his own wishes merge and blend with that alone. He does not consider himself to have the slightest bit of lordship over God, but rather, he considers God to have complete lordship over himself. If at any time God does what he desires, then there is a hesitation within, a sadness that God was compelled to do so just for him. If there is no hesitation as a result of doing something that he desires, but rather there is contentment, then this is not true surrender (sharanagati) . A spiritual aspirant who has taken refuge in God, remains ever happy, understanding the unfavorable circumstances associated with his body, his mind, his senses, his intellect to be God's will and wishes.
