Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA! VOICE OF THE RISHIS: 90 COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARDHANA RAO " SATYAM BROOYTAH, PRIYAM BROOYATH " " Speak truth (but) speak it palatable " . Our speech should have two characteristics, one truth and the other agreeability. People think that truth is always a harsh reality and go on speaking it out without any consideration about its agreeability. Speaking out truth is a lofty objective to make a situation genuine and sincere and, if need be to correct a scenario from getting degraded at such moments of disclosing. Truth, an addition of pleasant delivery will have an added effect and the effect will prove doubtless beneficial. Here the adage refers to, it should be noted, not one aspect, namely, truth, but also the second aspect of its delivery in a soft natured palatability. It appears the second aspect of modifying our expression into a pleasant way, without at the cost of truth, is a more difficult one and requires deep study, meditation and discipline. The two sided coin, truth and pleasantness, will doubtless bring about a positive benefit. What, if the truth is spoken bluntly as it is the truth? The blunt spoken truth according to the text will yield the expected result and may bring out an adverse effect even. Thus truth and its soft delivery are the two requisites counseled upon for the benefit of mankind.
