Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA! VOICE OF THE RISHIS: 91 COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARADHANA RAO " SARVO DANDA JITHO LOKAH " `The whole world can be won only by weapon. This adage from the ancient text sounds like an aggressive Nazi concept. This also sounds violent. But it is not. It is just a plain naked truth spoken without a facade. This adage gives out the importance of maintaining adequate force for the peaceful existence of the subjects, by its state. History is replete with several instances how a weak state without adequate power of arms and its striking force, disintegrated in no time losing its pristine glory. Force or `danda' is an essential feature of a state. If this is overlooked it will prove its bane. Indian history gives us lessons how Alexander with his fast horse power, got over Indian kings who cared more for their elephants. The Moguls and the Westerners used cannon power. In modern times the US, Russia, and China with the nuclear power are considered strong and feared. Guru Govind Singh asked the Sikhs to bear arms and founded the Khalsa cult. Chatrapathi Shivaji armed the tribals and attacked the powerful Mogul empire. Why? Lord Vishnu carries Sudarsana, Lord Siva the Trident, Durga a long `Soolam', Hanuman `Gada', Ajuna his bows and arrows. The state doubtless should be sufficiently armed. " Have faith in God, but keep the (gun) powder dry " is the saying. Even while Gandhiji was alive during the early days of Kashmir invasion, he did not resent India taking military action, and he left it to the state to tackle the issue.
