PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA!

VOICE OF THE RISHIS: 95

COURTESY: SHRI RAPARLA JANARADHANA RAO

" SAMSAYATMAA VINASYATI "

-BHGAVADGITA

This saying by Lord Krishna in Bhagavadgita, as an advice to Arjuna,

the representative of man (nara), conveys the important lesson that

man should eschew all doubtful negative thoughts (Samsaya atma)

These will lead to his down fall (vinasyati). Modern Psychiatry too

dwells upon the same principle, that man should entertain thinking

and never allow negative thoughts to dominate.

What are the negative thoughts (Samsaya)! Baseless imaginary

hypothetical fears, phobias as they are now called are the poachers

into the garden of peace or the human mind. The psychologists

categorize negative thoughts in to several types, - anticipatory

fears, and fear of misfortune, dark broodings, and doubts about

one's future progress. Suicidal tendencies, doubts one's own

capacity or style of performance, doubts emanating from inferiority

complex etc. All these and several other fears, forebodings,

leading to this cause of destruction unseen, in slow steps, rampage

on the self confidence of the human being. Man needs self hypnosis

that he is the replica of God. He has made man in his image, is the

biblical truth. And the holiest Vedic blessing is " Subham

Bhavatu " " May you be fortunate " . And this should be repeated often

to gain strength and succor, needed very much for the success of

man.
