Guest guest
Sharanagati - Lord says Youor Shortcomings are now My Shortcomings. " I will release you from all your sins, " - In this expression Lord implies - When you leave the support of all spiritual teachings (dharmas), and take refuge in Me, and after taking refuge, your inner expressions, your behavior, your natural tendencies etc. have not changed, rather there has been no improvement in them; and if love for Me or God Realization has not taken place; and within yourself you still see incapability, weakness, lack of proprietership in Me, etc.; and if you are still carrying these points, then too - DO NO WORRY OR FEAR. Because when you have exclusively and completely surrendered to Me, then how can your shortcomings remain yours? How is it your responsibility to improve those weaknesses? Those shortcomings are My shortcomings. Now to remove these shortcomings, to reform them, is My job. You only have one work; and that is - Be free of worries, free of grief, free of fear and free of doubt, and remain at all times at My feet (taking refuge in Me). But if you start to worry, fear or doubt etc. then these things will become obstacles in your refuge, and instead all the burden and responsibility will come back to. Having surrendered, carrying this load is a blemish on refuge. Just like Vibhishan takes refuge in Lord Rama, therefore Vibhishan's mistakes are seen by God as His own mistakes. At one time Vibhishan went to the other side of the Ocean and committed a grave sin of killing a Brahmin in a village called Vipraghosh. Vibhishan was badly beaten by the villagers, but he did not die. He was tied up in heavy chains and locked up in a cave buried beneath the earth. When Lord Rama heard about this, He Himself immediately went in search of Vibhishan's. When Lord Rama arrived at Vipraghosh, the Brahmins of the village, paid great respect and hospitality towards Lord Rama and told Him how Vibhishan had killed a Brahmin and in spite of being beating up badly, he is not dying. Lord Rama, told the Brahmins that He has blessed Vibhishan with long life and part of His kingdom, how can he die? And what is the need to kill him? He said - Vibhishan is My devotee. I am willing to die Myself for My devotees. The responsibility of the servants, lies with the Master. Rather it is the Master who becomes eligible to take the punishments. Therefore says Lord Rama, instead of Vibhishan, punish Me instead. Seeing this immense compassion for His surrendered devotees, the Brahmins were awed, and immediately thereafter, they too took refuge in Lord Rama.
