Guest guest
GARLAND OF GURU'S SAYINGS The following verses are from the great poet Muraganar's 1282- stanzas of Guruvachaka-Kovai, which was translated in English by Prof. K.Swaminathan. By practice of Self –enquiry, sharpen The weapon divine of silence. With this Dig out, uproot and cast away the weed Releasing the font of bliss serene. See Love. Hear Love. Reach out and touch Love. Eat Love, sweet Love, and smell Love. For Love is the Self's Awareness of Itself. `Give yourself to God', they say. But is it ours to give, not His already? Now at least let us repent The theft, and at His Lotus Feet Restore what we have stolen. The boat moves in the water, but Water should never enter it. Though one lives in the world, The world should not occupy one's mind. RETURN TO SOURCE: Sri Ramana has repeatedly emphasized the need for searching the Self at its source, that is, the heart at the right side of the chest, where the Self resides. This is because as the adage goes, " There is no place like home " . Home is always sweet, where one would like to return in the evening no matter where one might have spent the day. Sri Ramana says: Rain drops risen from the sea cannot rest until they reach their ocean-home, or a bird must return to its `earthly perch' at night, no matter however much it might have hovered round the sky during the day. Similarly, the mind may go on wandering aimlessly, but cannot rest till it rejoins the source, which lies in the heart.
