Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BADNDUVAULLARA! VOICE OF THE RISHIS: 105 COURTESY SHRI RAPARLA JANARADHANA RAO " KSHUDRAM HRIDAYA DOURBALYAM " --BHAGAVAD GITA 2-3 " Worst (Kshudram) is the feeling of weakness (Hridaya Dourbalyam) " is the greatest exhortation given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the battle ground. Arjuna was fraught with feelings of despair, dismay and wanted to give his duty as a Kshatriya, in putting an end to evil forces. It is beholden to the Kshatriya rulers, ruling over the land, to rid the evil forces dealing in arson, murders and other anti social acts (Aathathayees). Arjuna was full of remorse and disliked the bloodshed and the loss of human life. What is wrong with this kind of mental state? Yes it is. If a judge shows pity to a serial killer and lets him off what would be the state of the society? If a rapist is let gone unpunished, what would be the position of the ladies? Vedas clearly indicate the different (four) classified activities of the society and earmark people according to their bent of mind. Arjuna has become evasive now and his strong heart as a warrior is now feeble/ Hence Lord Krishna warns men, not to allow the heart become weak. He uses the word " Kshudram " " worst " . Man always gets moments in his life, so dark that some try to put an end to the life. At these moments of darkness or helplessness, this text " Ksudram Hridaya Dourbalyam " should be meaningfully repeated which will overcome the dark moments. This is the greatest lesson Gita offers to us to get over despair. This is a " Mantra " against suicidal tendencies of man.
