Have a Firm Determination Part 2

 

Question: As long as worldly pleasures do not come in front of us,

till that time we are firm that we will not get entangled in

enjoyment of worldly pleasures. But when we come face to face with

such enjoyments, we become weak. What should we do? (cont'd Part 2)

 

Swamiji: If you want to tell the truth, then become firm that from

today onwards I will speak the truth. I will not speak any lies.

Even on this point, I will not lie. Remain firm on the point " I

will speak the Truth " .

 

There is great glory of sacrifice. What ever may happen, I will not

lie. Whatever may happen - whether I may lose my name, fame, wealth

or incur any type of loss, but I will not lie. If at the moment of

having to speak the truth, if you become weak, and you are unable to

have the courage to speak the truth, then have a little leeway and

minimally do not lie, simply keep quiet. Tell the opposite person,

that all things cannot necessarily be shared with others, therefore

I cannot say. I do not have the capability of speaking the truth.

Also, you can say that at this time do not have the mindset, the

frame of mind, to tell the truth. Leave that place and this solution

can be workable for you.

 

If you have at one time made a firm determination, then never kill

that thought ever again. The killing of our thoughts, gives rise to

continuous birth and death cycle. Therefore let the object come in

front of us, I will not be strayed. I will not spit and lick it

again. On remaining firm in your thoughts, you will gain a certain

kind of strength, some energy force. Then you will not be

experiencing this type of condition. Let people call you a coward,

or speak ill of you, do not be concerned about that. We have to

become firm and determined in our thoughts.

 

Based on your personal inclinations, I can suggest easy spiritual

practices, but taking it on, imbibing in that new learning will have

to come from you alone. I will share with you very easy, very simple

spiritual practice and I will also get you to accept that - " I can

do this practice and doing this practice will certainly be

beneficial for me ! " But you alone will have to become ready, and in

this readiness, all work will be completed, because in essence, it

is for God Realization alone that this human body has be bestowed on

us.

 

Now if God (Supreme Consciousness, Supreme Soul) is not attained,

then what else will we attained? This world can never be attained.

It is only a fallacy that we have acquired wealth, we have acquired

a family. All will vanish, therefore what have you received? We can

never attain this world and we can never be separated from God -

this is the absolute Truth. (to be continued)
