Guest guest
4. True education should begin with a study of one self. " The proper study of mankind is man. " Man has a complex personality consisting of body, mind and intellect. He reacts to the world outside through this three fold equuipments. To this may be added one more aspect -- the spiritual. Any experience will be fruitful and satisfying only if it satisfies all the above facets of a man's personality. Let us suppose an ardent devotee is listening to a speech by Swamiji at a Gnana Yagna. The yagnasala is crosded with listerners and this man is sitting squeezed between two fat gentlemen. In spite of the devotee's intrest in the talk and swamiji's inspiring eloquence that appeals to his mind and intellect, the physical discomfort that he feels prevents him from getting full satisfaction out of the discourse. Again suppose he is lucky enough to gt a comfortable seat in front and can enjoy the speech without any hindrance. If the sky suddenly darkens and ominous thunders growl in the skyu threatening a heavy rain, the mental disturbance caused thereby, will again make satisfaction imperfect. Then again, even if we are physically comfortable and mentally serene, if we hear swamiji voicing forth views with which we do not intellectually agree, it cannot be a satisfying experience. Thus the harmonious satisfaction of all the aspects of a man's personality is a happy and fruitful experience and the true education will, positively bring this internal harmony and its unfoldment in us.
