All great scriptural masters at their greatest moments of inspirations explain the Highest Truth in the simplest language. But the pundits generally declare such works as minor. Bhaja Govindam has become very popular in our country because of its rhythmic stanzas, simplicity of the vocabulary employed and the general atmosphere of the song. We can hear these stanzas in every nook and corner of our country. Because of the musical rhythm in these stanzas intelligent people appreciated it, philosophers enjoyed it and children lisped it. It is quite natural when anything is frequently used by the people all over the country, even if it be a triffling thing, it will become rather monotonous. It is in this deplorable predicament that Charya Sankar's Bhaja Govindam is now regarded by the pundits. Acharya Sankara frequently reiterates that the only method is a reeducation of the intellect. Only very few Vedantic teachers have emphasized this fact that a renovation of the intellect is absolutely necessary for spiritual upliftment. The right values are enunciated in Bhaja Govindam in order to bring about a remodification and rehabilitation in our life. We must try to always nurture and nourish ourselves with subtler ideas and keep our path clear and firm in order to reach the lodestar.
