The heart of Bhaja Govindam advises man to enquire within himself,

to find out the real seal of happiness in him and to dwell therein

constantly without chasing after the objects of the worldly pleasure

which can give only unending sorrow and disappointment. This is the

only medicine for the follies of man's delusion. In Bhaja Govindam,

Acharya Sankara advocates us to serve our relations and friends in a

spirit of worship of the Lord Govinda. If we follow this path of

devoted and dedicated action we can have a glimpse of the true

education and its unfoldment in us.

 

The right values of life are beautifully enumerated in Bhaja

Govindam to serve as a living guide to all those who thirst to

become perfect. To the extent we are able to recognize our way of

life and change our vision of the world around us on the above

lines, to that extent we shall economise our energies, that is often

wasted in idle pursuits. To respect and live these noble values of

life completely is to assure ourselves of a right way of living.

 

If an educated man follows the path of devoted and dedicated actions

which constitute a true education he will come to understand that

Lord Krishna is not on the Jamuna banks or above the clouds in

Vishnuloka. He is ever within every man. And those who are

constantly meditating upon Him will not be conquered by the lower

animal, lust and will come to experience the constant vision of the

Lord. Like the moth balls kept in a wardrobe to protect all the

clothes therein and keep away all the worms, so too, the

constant 'smaran' of the Divine Nature of the self protects the

human personality from the destructive worms of its inward

negatives. This is the content of all the upanishads and the

scriptures.
