Guest guest
WATCH THE THINKER: The greatest obstacle to experiencing Reality is identification with the mind, which causes thought to become compulsive. Not to be able to stop thinking is a dreadful affliction, but we don't realize this because almost everybody is suffering from it. We can free ourself from our mind. This is the only true liberation. We can take the first step right now by not paying particular attention to any repetitive thought patterns - those old audiotapes that have been playing in our heads perhaps for many years. This is what is meant by watching the thinker. We should listen to that voice impartially, without judging or condemning what we hear. As we listen to the thought it loses its power over us and quickly subsides, because we are no longer energizing the mind through identification with it. This is the beginning of the end of involuntary and compulsive thinking. – Eckhard Tolle prof laxmi narain (prof_narain) Source and courtesy: Sri Ramana Kendram, Hyderabad This article was published in Sri Ramana Jyothi, monthly magazine of the Kendram.
