Guest guest
How do God Realized Souls behave in practical life? Those enlightened great souls behold God pervading equally in a Brahmana (intellectuals endowed with learning), a cow, an elephant, a dog and a pariah. (not that they identify themselves with them in their practical dealings such as eating and drinking etc.) (Gita 5:18) What is the result of their equanimity in all beings? Those whose minds are established in equanimity i.e. in the essence of God; they while living in this world, have conquered this mortal world i.e. they have transcended the world. The reason is that the Absolute (Brahman, Supreme Consciousness) is flawless and equanimous, hence they remain established in the Eternal (Brahman) in the form of equanimity. (Gita 5:19) How does one get established in that equanimity? He who with a steady intellect, being free of attachment and delusion, neither rejoices with the pleasant nor feels perturbed with the unpleasant, such a knower of Brahman remains established in God. (Gita 5:20) This state, can be attained by what means O Lord? He who remains detached to external enjoyments, he first realizes the pure bliss and happiness of the Self. Thereafter, having identified himself with Brahman, he enjoys Eternal Bliss. (Gita 5:21)
