all those Prethas = who died an untimely death , who met an end

 

violently , who died with some wish or wishes unfulfilled and those

 

who did not have a proper funeral ( Anthyeshtti ) ; so a day of

 

Anaattha Pretha Samskaaram - those who died unwept , unsung-

 

in their memory Yama Dharma Raaja Deepa daanam

 

and a day to light a lamp in front of the house and leave it burning

 

whole night. Beseech , on behalf of all those Souls , Yama Dharma
