Guest guest
Dear Members, Excerpts for the discourse of Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji We may question, " Why can't I meditate on the clock on the wall or on the black dot on the wall? Why can’t I say some other words? After all I should concentrate, why should one meditate on the Divine Name?' Let us say that on the compound wall of our house some dirty posters have been pasted. What should we do to stop this? • We should paste a poster and that poster should prevent other dirty posters being pasted on the compound wall. • We cannot paste a dirty poster ourselves as it may not prevent other dirty posters being pasted over it. • We should paste a poster reading, 'do not paste any poster on this wall.' This would stop further pasting of posters. Hence the thought that we take should be such that it prevents unwanted thoughts. Thus, by listening and chanting the sound of the Divine Names unwanted thoughts are erased out and new ones do not crop up. Our mind is cleansed by the Divine power of the Divine Name.
